Dr Bill Johnston

Dr Bill Johnston is a highly respected Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist with over two decades of experience across public and private practice. Having served as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at various prominent hospitals since 2001—including a long tenure at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai District Hospital and seven years as Head of Department at Sydney Adventist Hospital—he brings extensive clinical and surgical expertise to his practice.

Dr Johnston graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) before completing specialist Otolaryngology training across leading Sydney teaching hospitals, including Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney Hospital, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, and The Children's Hospital at Westmead. He subsequently completed a dedicated Rhinology Fellowship under the mentorship of Professor Raymond Sacks and Dr Martin Forer prior to entering private practice.

Dr Johnston's clinical focus encompasses comprehensive general ENT care, with a particular focus on:

• Paediatric ENT: Airway disturbances, snoring, sleep issues, and general middle ear conditions.
• Adult Rhinology & Airway: Chronic nasal obstruction, nasal allergies, allergic airway disease, and snoring assessment.

Community & Regional Outreach

Dedicated to improving specialist healthcare access outside metropolitan Sydney, Dr Johnston maintains a strong commitment to the Mid North Coast. In addition to his private consulting in South Kempsey and his VMO appointment at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, he regularly attends clinics at Werrin Aboriginal Health Access Centre to provide specialist ENT outreach care for local Indigenous communities.
